Here in the UK we don’t call it “candy”, they’re sweets on this side of the pond. And my favourite sweet? Prepare yourself…

Liquorice.

Yes, that liquorice. Not the red, fruity rubbish but the proper black stuff that people think tastes like medicine.

Well maybe it does, but to me it’s pure comfort and a little bit of nostalgia. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth but I love those soft little twists of chewy bitterness.
